Pre-loved

Ed was in a fix. Making ends meet was difficult enough. Still, he didn’t want to break his promise to his daughter, not on her fourth birthday. A sad smile appeared on his face as he thought of her. The medium-sized pink teddy caught his eyes as he stepped into the thrift store. It was pre-loved, he knew. An unbroken promise and a joyous birthday kid was worth his lighter pocket.❤❤

Unbottled!!!

To bottle up a memory that never got stale and once uncorked, one gets to relive the memory all over. Well, thank you, Daphne du Maurier, for this thought. And that got me thinking. Which memory would I love to bottle? Undoubtedly, it’d be that one evening in my childhood where I stood mesmerised by the glow of fireflies across the field facing my ancestral home. To my innocent mind, tiny angels had come with their magic lights. Fireflies are not magic- I know now. Still, I’d love to uncork my bottle to relive the magic.❤❤❤

Destined Dreams

After all those wars that have wiped timelines,
after all the bloodshed flooding our seas for epochs,
the mysterious cosmos that decides our destiny
brings in a notion to breathe life into me…
As I breathe in life,
I hear the spirits of yesteryears
veiled beyond time
whispering among constellations,
of their aspirations for me.
Naively, I stand bewildered,
because I bear enigmatic dreams
etched by the irrefutable destiny
while mine wander about in hopes
to tether itself to me…
