(A Mirrored Refrain written for OctPoWriMo- Day 16)
Our childhood dreams without restraint
Painting a world of colours of our choice
Selfless child of nature, our childhood dreams
Just happy and grateful, with no cares
Blue li’l puppies and cats with colours so quaint
Grass vividly violet, along sparkling chocolate streams
Just happy and grateful, with no cares
Selfless child of nature, our childhood dreams
Crows painted bright green and red
Lest it feels sad about wearing black always
Selfless child of nature, our childhood dreams
Just happy and grateful, with no cares.
Though cloudy, stars and moon adorned the night skies,
Lest a traveller loses his way in the haunted forests
Just happy and grateful, with no cares
Selfless child of nature, our childhood dreams
That child is gone now, along with the paintings of old
Yet somehow, memories bring that kid at times; this
Selfless child of nature, our childhood dreams
Just happy and grateful, with no cares❤
Those beautiful colours fade, as we grow to conform to the societal norms. You’ve penned it so well Roshni!!
